Lose Belly Fat

How To Lose Belly FatThe midsection of the body is a bit of a contradiction.  First, it being the core is the most used muscle, aside from the heart, that the body has.  Yet, it tends to be our flabbiest part of the body.  So with that said, how do we lose belly fat?

It’s hard to find time in the day to exercise.  We are too tired, have other things to do, have business meetings, the reasons go on.  And they are all legitimate.  However, if you want to lose belly fat, you must find the time.

You Have to be Determined

To lose belly fat, you have to increase your heart rate.  What exercises to do is entirely up to you.  Whatever is most enjoyable for you and will keep you doing it.  Swimming is a favorite of mine.  It doesn’t feel like exercise because it’s something I love to do.  You may enjoy bicycling, running, jumping rope (which is a very good exercise for the entire body) and many other things that are cheap or even free.

Think of the things you enjoyed doing as a kid.  Go back to that.  If you weren’t particularly athletic as a child, go for walks.  Walking also reduces stress which is a contributor to belly fat.

Six Pack Abs

To lose belly fat is one thing, to acquire six pack abs is a more in depth process.  Now you’re getting down to the tougher exercises.  The crunches, the sit ups, the twisting sit ups.  Those are all standard, tried and true.  However, there has to be more.

Well, there’s the one where you lie on your back.  Put your hands under your tailbone.  Raise your legs about 12 inches off the floor.  Now do a bicycling motion with your legs.  You’re going to feel that on the upper part of your stomach.  If it starts to burn, stop.  The phrase “No Pain-No Gain” is a falsehood.  You want to be able to function the next day.

Another exercise you can do, if you have good balance, it to do back bends.  Hold on to something sturdy to steady yourself, lean back at the waste, then stand back up straight.  Or, lay on your bed.  Keep your legs and butt on the bed, let your upper body extend off the edge of the bed.  Lower yourself slowly, then back up to level.  Don’t go so far back that you hurt your back.  You will not only lose belly fat and acquire your six pack abs, but you’ll also strengthen the muscles in your back.

The Dreaded Diet

You knew this was coming.  You have to eliminate the foods with high sugar content and carbohydrates with refined flour.  That would be breads, pastas, donuts, cakes, biscuits.  You know, all the foods that got us where we are when we have the belly fat.  You can, however, have wholemeal bread, wheat bread, things that don’t use white flour.  The good carbs are fruits and vegetables.  You can’t eat too many of those.
